Miriam Gordon

Miriam is a widely-recognized leader in the reuse movement. An architect of innovative policy models, reuse campaigns and a large network of coalitions and collaborations, Miriam’s role has been incubator, innovator and builder of the reuse movement. Over her 30+ years of environmental leadership, including stints as Director of Clean Water Action California and consultant to other nonprofits, Miriam helped enact over 150 local plastic bag and 100 polystyrene bans in California and scored numerous state legislative victories to stop waste, reduce toxic exposure, restrict fracking, and protect water quality. She also developed award-winning and impactful pollution prevention programs for the plastics, food service and marine recreational boating industries while working in local, state and federal government in California.
